It ain't gone 'till it's gone

(ongoing project)

This work, depicting the repurposing of the mundane tyre, is a portraiture of skepticism towards the disposability of objects - an attitude deeply embedded in communities whichhave encountered prolonged periods of scarcity. The dance between the robust nature of the humble tyre, the ingenuity of humans and the pursuit of longevity has produced a means of architectural landscaping, play, andpolitical statement. The series is a tribute to the somewhat endearing long-lasting presence of these often comedic and slightly absurd objects in our urban landscapes.
